Str8....

Some kids count down the days until their birthday. Lately Warren and Wally have been counting down the days until they get their braces on. Well, today (August 19th) was their lucky day.
Warren looks happy to have his braces on. Warren decided to go Red and Blue for the Boston Red Soxs.

How many hands can Wally fit in his mouth?

We sure are going to miss Wally and his cute miss placed teeth. Wally had a difficult time deciding what color of elastics to put on. We decided to stick with the Red and Blue theme. Wally is looking forward to his four week check up so he can place his Red and Black bands on to support his Utah Utes.

Who doesn't like getting something new?

Warren has been golfing with the Junior Golf League at Eastbay. Warren looks forward to golfing every Monday morning with his buddies Ryan, Kyle, Nate and Tyler. Not only does he get to golf on Mondays but he can go golfing at Eastbay any day, any time. The hardest part is finding a ride to and from the course.
Warren took a liking to golf so well that Johnny decided to surprise him with a new set of Callaway golf clubs. Warren went golfing with his mom and as they were getting their clubs out of the car she said "If you don't want to use my club today, then give these clubs a try".

The Averett's decided to buy a trailer for all of their camping needs. We hope to go places we've never been and to make lasting memories with the ones we love.

For those of you that can't come and have a live tour with Wally, these pictures will have to do. We bought a 26 foot 1984 Nomad trailer that sleeps 8 comfortably.

I believe this is Rhiannon's side of the trailer. Who else uses the kitchen?

This is where we will be playing a lot of card games. The boys have already broke the trailer in by playing Battleship, Checkers, Uno, Connect Four and Phase Ten.

The boys favorite part of the trailer is the double bunk beds.

TEMPLE SQUARE

We've made it a tradition to go to Temple Square a week or two before school starts. We toured the temple grounds and ate lunch at "The Garden". Temple Square is also a great place to take pictures of the family.
The boys were excited about wearing their new school clothes to Temple Square. They didn't know that their mom wanted pictures of them without all their sports attire.

Warren didn't mind sharing his dimples with us today.

Bennett thought he needed to be paid for his super model skills. It's amazing what the kid will do for a dollar.

Wally loved making us laugh.

We stopped at the reflection pond for pictures and nobody fell in.

We love to see the Temple. We're going there someday.

We ordered fried pickles for an appetizer. Everyone liked them except Warren.

We even learned some table manners while eating at The Garden.

Who needs to like fried pickles when you have a meal big enough to feed a giant?

We know that our family is ETERNAL. (Oops, I posted the family picture where Warren wasn't looking at the camera).

Hiking Stewart Falls

With a couple weeks left of our summer break we decided we better make the best of what's left. We headed up Provo Canyon to Sundance to hike Stewart Falls. Stewart Falls is a 2 mile hike along a dirt path. The hike was easy enough that Bennett could make the hike all by himself. We really enjoyed hiking Stewart Falls.

Warren was able to finish the hike as well. I think he could have made the hike twice before we all made it there. Warren loves hiking.

We couldn't resist walking behind the waterfall. Do you think the water was cold?

We all cooled off by taking a trip behind the waterfall. You can't walk behind a waterfall without getting ALL WET! Kyle and Travis Gage (the boy's friends) spent the day with us while their mom was at girls camp.

PALISADES here we come....

Grandma Liz had so much fun at Palisades last year that she wanted to go again. So we packed up the fishing gear, life jackets, raft, golf clubs and lunch and headed on down to Palisades. Johnny, Grandpa Rob and Warren chased a little white ball around the golf course while Grandma Liz, Rhiannon, Wally and Bennett fished and played in the lake.
Bennett tried his luck at fishing. He didn't catch a fish with his fishing pole but he did have the farthest cast on the day and lost ALL of his line twice.

We loved wading our feet in the water and having all the little fish nibble at our feet.

Wally was excited that he talked his mom into swimming with him. Wally, Bennett and Rhiannon jumped off the floating dock into the refreshing water below.

"I don't know why they LOVE to play in that COLD water."

"Come on Wally and Bennett lets fill up our little cooler and go out exploring in our raft."

These boys sure know how to have fun in the sun. We love fishing with our Grandma and Grandpa.

"I guess if this thing doesn't float I might as well use it for something."

We saw a lot of fish and a snake while out exploring. Wish we could have found some little frogs.

We sure hope you had as much fun at Palisades as we did. We LOVE you!!!

Has anyone seen a fat guy in a little coat? We had a "Tommy Boy" moment.

It was another successful trip to Palisades. Thanks for going with us and for making more fun memories. Hope we can have more join us next year.

What's a summer without a BEE'S game?

We always look forward to having Preston and Brian fly home for the weekend. We love spending time with them and enjoy all the laughs and memories we make when they're home. For fun this trip we ate brunch at the Porcupine. If you left the Porcupine not stuffed you must have been with the wrong crowd. We had enough food to last us a couple of days. After brunch we headed on over to Spring Mobile Ballpark to watch our Salt Lake Bees. It was an exciting baseball game with a lot of action. I believe we saw 4 home runs, 1 grand slam and watched the benches clear twice. I can't think of anything the game was lacking. We would like to thank Cody and Diane for putting together this fun filled day!
Wally was excited to go to the Bee's game because it gave him the chance to show off his new Salt Lake Bee's baseball jersey and baseball hat that he got for his 9th birthday.

Bennett was hoping he'd get a chance to play on this nice baseball field.

What's a Bee's game without BUMBLE?

We love Preston and Brian.

Wally made sure to get his eye black painted on by the Bee's cheerleader.

Warren waited patiently to catch a fly ball. When he wasn't waiting for a fly ball you could find him playing catch with his brothers Wally and Bennett.

We had so much fun with our loved ones. Thanks for taking us to the ballpark. We LOVED every minute.
