I picked this picture because it shows the dominance of the Bears right now! Yes Da Bears won again! I will agree that is very impressive! I am sure you all are excited for me!

Sorry this took so long to get out! It is end of quarter here at Alta High School and that has been keeping me very busy! I loved the pumpkin carving pictures. Diane and I were the ones Mom was mentioning when she was discussing people who didn't participate! I didn't want to out do many of my fellow pumpkin carvers since I have owned them in the Nesman papers lately! Well this is how it shook out this week.

CALiFORNiA CARViN'

Brian, Anthony (his nephew), Denise (his sister), and Mary Jane (his niece) showing off the GHETTO place we went to buy our pumpkins. 3 pumpkins for 9.99....who said we can't bargain shop!

Me, Bella (brian's cousin), Johnny (brian's nephew), and Mary Jane among the throng of pumpkins wanting to be taken home and slashed with knives and gutted.

Anthony and Me, proud pumpkin owners.

Brian choose a pumpkin with some growing scars....he felt horrible that it might never get picked to become a jack-o-latern, and he just couldn't have that happen.

when you get bored in a halloween costume store i highly recommend passing the time by practicing the many ways you can slash someone, time flies when your killing.

look at how happy me and my pumpkin are!

Brian's pumpkin not only has a scar running across his face but can barely see out of his eyes.

the happy pumpkin family!

Mary Jane and Me sitting by the lit up pumpkins, she wasn't too excited about it, but i was!

brian and i did our pumpkin craving today as well....miles away we missed you all but and some fun for ourselves. check out our day of pumpkin shopping, a little messing around with some fun halloween costumes, and the fabulous finished products. your pumpkins look great, too bad some of you didn't bring any to crave, but every party needs a pooper i guess.

The making of Jack O Lantern.

It was the annual carving of the Pumpkins. We had some party poopers that did not bring pumpkins. We also had some that shared their pumpkins. The chili was the best Betty could make, the Cornbread Diane was yummy and the home churned Oreo Shakes were over the top! Thank you everyone for a great evening. I thought you would enjoy remembering so here are the pictures. Juan Diego didn't make his appearance but I will include his picture so we can also remember him.

Biology 101

At the risk of boring all of you, I decided to post the pic of the three embryos that were transferred during our last IVF cycle. Cody and I will find out if this was a successful transfer in a few weeks :). For now, here is a little bit of info about these little tiny embryos (no, we do not name them). This is what an embryo looks like three days after fertilization. A healthy embryo will have divided at least 8 times by day three. You want the cell divisions to be very clear and clean. That being said, the highest quality embryo is the one on the bottom right in the picture. Another part of the procedure that these embryos went through is what is called assisted hatching. The embryologists (yes, that is a real profession) use a machine that can calibrate a laser to just pierce the "shell" of the embryo. Assisted hatching is done to help the embryo conserve energy during the hatching process. I guess these little ones get tired easy. You can see where the laser cut through the embryos' shell really clearly on the bottom two, not so clearly on the top one. Anyways, the last of my biology lesson is that it takes a few days after the embryos are transferred for them to hatch, and then it takes a few more days for the embryo to implant itself in the wall of the uterus. So, hopefully at least one of these little ones will find their way. It was aggressive to transfer three embryos, and Cody being the worrier that he is, has been worried about how I would manage holding two babies at the same time. I assured him that it can be done. You have to love him for all of his worrying...the poor guy! Thanks to all of you for your thoughts, prayers, love and support through all of this.

Nesman Week 4 Winner

Well I was able to catch the second half of the Monday Night game after my scouting trip down south in Utah County. I was scouting a lefty that Alta is looking at. I was very impressed with the one inning he got to pitch. I am of course talking about the up and comer Warren Averett! He was impressive against the Lehi Tigers! Great job Warren.

Anyways back to football. This week was won after Sunday Nights game. Rhiannon Averett won the papers with 13 correct picks. Ironic how the one game she misses was her own team! Way to go Titans! She at least went for her team which probably game her good karma in winning (Betty!). Well this was this weeks results:
