I talked Rhiannon into walking with me in the early mornings. She is a trouper. Last night I asked her if she walks in the rain. Her reply was I don't walk in the wind. This morning as I went outside I noticed the wind was blowing. Something I couldn't near downstairs before I woke up. On the way to her house I thought, I wonder what mph does Rhiannon say no walking. The trees were not bending over. Just as I was ready to go back home she comes out of the house. Without complaining we start our walk in the wind, lightning and thunder. I joke about the point of no turning back would be after the dip. You know the dip between Springville and Mapleton. As you can guess, just as we passed the point of no turning back the rain started. I was walking to loose weight but in a matter of minutes I had gained weight from the soaked clothes and 20 pound water logged shoes. It was a morning to remember. Thank you Rhiannon for your positive attitude. Keep on walking!

How lucky is Brookside Elementary?

I can't believe Warren is in 4th grade. How did that happen? Warren is SO smart he will be teaching me a thing or two this year (especially about history).

Can the girls at Brookside school handle having Wally there ALL day long? Wally will be proclaiming his LOVE for one thing - his passion for his UTAH UTES!

Handsome little Bennett gets to stay home and have his MOM teach him his ABC's. It won't be long before Bennett gets to go to school with his big brothers. Why can't they all stay little forever?

They are brothers and they do like each other once and a while, only when they are all on the same team. WHAT A GOOD LOOKING AVERETT TEAM!

"This is the Place" Civil War Reenactment

Our family recently attended a Civil War reenactment at Heritage Park. We were able to see different warfare techniques, see the types of clothing they wore and we even got to touch some of the different guns that they used. We watched an open field battle and finished off with a battle taking place in a corn field. It really hit me hard to watch them battle one another in the corn field with houses surrounding them. This war really did take place right in their own backyards against enemies, family and friends.

Monday Night Football?

For Grandma and Grandpa it was Monday Night Baseball. What a surprise game. Robbie got to pitch the first two innings. He did great. It was exciting to see the team finally excited to play because they felt like they could win. Robbie had a three base no hit play because the catcher missed the final catch. We were ahead until the last inning when the coach made some horrid decisions. They called the game before we got our last ups! It was a great night to see Robbie shine! He looked like he owned the field.

The Promise of a Good Fishing Day

The morning was awesome as you can tell from the picture. In the first five minutes I caught a 15" cutthroat and released him. We had hopes that the day would be a good fishing day. It was a 2 1/2 hour wait for the next bite. I lost that fish because I was playing with my phone. No more fish wanted to eat our bait. Once more I out fished everyone. We went for a quick trip up the narrows before taking the boat out of the water. Maybe not the best fishing day but it was a good day! Enjoy the pictures.

Old Fashion Granny

Rhiannon is off in Park City playing! Crazy woman. The boys stayed over last night. They were angels! But today was school picture day. My kids should remember how stressful that can be on me. While combing Wally's hair he informed me I was old fashioned. He did not like how I was combing his hair. He wanted a mohawk but when I wouldn't give in he wanted it combed straight forward with the front poking up. The boy knows hair fashion. Robbie didn't really care how his hair was combed. True to form, on the way to get Bennett's picture taken he picked something on his face. When I looked in the back seat and saw the blood it brought fond memories back. Bennett's picture is way cute. I can't wait to see the rest. The "old fashion" goes right along with Bennett's nickname for me, "Old Granny." It is great being a grandma!

If everyone jumped off a cliff, would you jump too? Why, yes actually I would!

Just checking in to let you know we're on the bandwagon too! I'm hoping Jared will post too, but more than likely I'll be the spokesperson for us! I also wanted to let everyone know that I'm doing a fantasy football at work with all the guys in my office and I'm currently in 2nd place! I'm only 2 points away from the leader!! So I definitely think this year is the year for the ladies to be at the top of the leader board!!

What the h*#* is a blog.

Well I thought if your all going to blog. I would try it out. Preston I looked for you on tv at the raiders game. Was that you with your head painted like the raiders helmet? Not much happening at work today the boss is out of town so its time to play. I guess you have to have something a little more exciting going on in your life to make this blogging thing work. oh well everyone have a great day and Go Raiders.

First Attempt

I may as well jump on the blogging band wagon. I don't have anything too exciting to say. But, I do want to give a shout out to all of the Nesman ladies and say awesome job in week one! We have got to show the boys this year that they can't intimidate us - we deserve our names on the trophy even though testosterone does not pump through our veins!! I can't help but feel that this is our year. Go Nesman ladies!!

Have a great day. Love you all lots.

I don't understand exactly what a blog is or why one would start one but here I am starting. Never say I shy away from technology. Please let me know if this is the correct format for the family blog.

Last night was a busy night! I picked some lushous raspberries and peaches during the rain storm. Went grocery shopping for items to make jam. By 10:00 pm I had three peach jam batches complete. They looked beautiful. If I had known I was going to be blogging this morning I would have taken pictures.

For this trail run I will stop for now.
