A day at the Zoo -- checking out ANiMALS and spying on a BLiND DATE

brian writes little reviews and sometimes articles for a magazine called iNSTiNCT and one section of the magazine they set-up to guys on a blind date and documents what happens.  so this sunday brian and i got to be a little creepy and spy on a date, get the behind the scenes dirt.  imagine how happy i was when i found out it would take place at the ZOO, i was as happy as a school girl.  here are some pictures of our trek along the zoo:

the front of SF Zoo. if you notice you get a discount for being a resident, but your know how much brian and i love paying extra for everything we paid FULL PRiCE.  brian said the animals could use the money.

GiRAFFE

me longing to hang out with that super cool GiRAFFE, they are so tall and regal looking

YiPPEE! dreams come true, he LOVE me!!!

this is the GREAT KUDU.  i thought with a name like that he could predict the future but when i asked what my future held he just walked away and pooped?  i don't know what that means.

let's be honest, if i was a bird i would have to be a FLAMiNGO -- i mean they're PiNK, need i say more?

the sign on this exhibit said "hard hats only, POLAR BEARS at work"  i guess they make them build their own cages.

this HiPPO and my feet were feeling the same way -- TiRED!

i have to say that my favorite exhibit at the zoo was the RiVER OTTERs -- they were so adorable and out jumping in the water and playing with a big bright yellow ball in the water.  also i wanted to take home one of the tiny tiny monkeys that had these huge white mustaches.  brian didn't think that iSLEY and the monkey would get along, he thought that my sweet little kitty cat would devour the monkey.

brian said that his favorite part was when we walked into the LiON HOUSE and they were giving the TiGERs their afternoon treat and one of the TiGERs gets a little too excited and roars at the neighboring gigantic SiBERiAN TiGER.  it scared the crap out of us, we weren't prepared for such a LOUD noise in an echoing building.  he was also completely captivated by the anteater, it was very impressive -- i don't think either one of us had ever seen one.

we even got a free dinner after the ZOO at a little local restaurant called HARVEYS, and brian said that free food means no calories!  we had some amazing nachos stacked with black beans, cheese, steak, salsa, and sour cream.  then of course after the "small" appetizer we had our own entrees - brian had a hamburger heaped with bacon and suateed mushrooms while i enjoyed a turkey wrap.  here's a picture of the happy boys after the end of the day.
